# Lake Skadar (Skadarsko jezero)

Lake Skadar is the largest lake in Southern Europe (surface varies seasonally, roughly 370–530 km²), shared between Montenegro (~2/3) and Albania (~1/3). The Montenegrin side is a national park: floating meadows of water lilies, island monasteries, historic fishing villages, and one of Europe's largest bird reserves — including the emblematic **Dalmatian pelican**.
